How do I contact you?

What’s the difference between copy and content?

Copywriting and content writing cross over to some extent, and I’m equally happy to write in either category. But in a nutshell, copywriting is writing that sells something. That might be getting a customer to click the buy button, or it might be a soft approach – what we call brand awareness. Content on the other hand, is designed to inform and educate. Think about blog posts and news feeds. That doesn’t mean content can’t sell, but it’s primary aim isn’t the same as copywriting.

What does copywriting include?

Lots of mediums! From the leaflets that drop through your letterbox to full page glossy magazine adverts. From a single frame banner advert on a website to an Instagram or Facebook ad. From an email to your subscribers to a multipage sales letter. Anything that’s written with an aim to selling a product, service, or idea.

How is copywriting good for my business?

Copywriting is essential for your business. Wait, scratch that. Good copywriting is essential for your business. Imagine paying for advertising space across your chosen medium. That’s an important budget decision for any business, big or small. You send out a message to hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands, of would-be buyers. If that message doesn’t resonate with them, your money is wasted. On the other hand if you’ve got a message with great copy in it that gets those lightbulbs pinging – that’s a worthwhile investment.

What are your prices?

Honestly: I can’t answer that until we’ve had a conversation. Because frankly one size doesn’t fit all. Let’s say you need a one-page website. That might constitute a few hundred words or it might be an almost endless scroll of several thousand words. Equally, you might know exactly where you’re heading – you just need someone to say it better – or you might have only the bare bones of an idea for what you’re offering. Maybe you need a style guide written for your team as well the website copy based on that guide. And that’s just a website. There are many other mediums I write for.
